Søren Stensby is one of the country’s most innovative violinists, who, in addition to the main projects Tako Lako and Mother Lewinsky, have worked with numerous artists such as Katinka, Broken Twin, Julias Moon, Lydmor, Steffen Westmark and Batz & Kaae.
Stensby is now out with his first new solo project. The music is the result of a six-month inspirational journey in Asia – these are sonic images of great natural and cultural experiences, expressed in simple compositions that mix inspirations from classical music with electronic sounds and Nordic people.
“I have long dreamed of getting my musical roots in the classical music to merge with my passion for electronic music and the style of play in Scandinavian folk music. It took a long journey to the other side of the earth and a lot of experiments and before it managed to hit the perfect balance ”
An important ingredient is the collaboration with the classic pianist Andreas Broby. Together, the two musicians have created a sound, where Broby’s piano and Stensby’s violin hose are added to effect pedals and subtle synthesizers, in a dreamy and ambient neo-classical universe.
Debut EP
Stensby publishes its debut EP in the spring of 2019 at Cosmopol Music Group – a new Danish label that focuses on contemporary neo-classical music
