Shortwave Broadcaster is an urban ambient electronic sonic adventure by the american born composer, guitarist and producer Keith Canisius Baerken. He’s currently living in Copenhagen, Denmark and perhaps in this writing moment better known from the shoegazer and dreampop scene, where he became known under the artist name of Rumskib (Darla records US & Quince JP), which created a lot of attention worldwide. Rumskib performed at Roskilde Festival after only playing 5 concerts together. After Rumskib, he released 5 vocal albums under the name Keith Canisius (Darla US), where he performed at SPOT festival and opened for the band Real Estate at a sold out Vega in Copenhagen. His album, “This time it’s our high”, was reviewed as one of the best albums in the danish alternative music scene in 2010.´and also got a lot of attention in the US. After his music projects Keith Canisius and Rumskib, he began releasing music under the artist name Shortwave Broadcaster. The two first EP’s was released at (Saint Marie records in the US). Shortwave Broadcaster is a mixture between William Basinski and Kevin Shields, on a hot sunday afternoon in the urban skatepark, while the sun descends from a clear sky. The music of Keith Canisius Baerken has often been used in various commercials, documentaries and TV programs Worldwide.
The name Shortwave Broadcaster is inspired by Milton William Cooper, who went by the same name when he was broadcasting shortwave radio before his assassination in 2001.

After releasing a couple of EP’s on the american label Saint Marie Records, he got signed to the label Cosmopol Music Group, where he recently released the new album “Sometimes in the distance”.
