New artist on Cosmopol is Shortwave Broadcaster alias composer, guitarist and producer Keith Canisius Baerken.
On the 5/3-21 Cosmopol New Series will release his next ambient album “Sometimes in the distance”
Sometimes in the distance is the newest eurorack tape loop experimental urban ambient cinema mood dream piece from Shortwave Broadcaster inviting William Basinki, Kevin Shields and Alex Garland for gin & tonic on the top floor of a Copenhagen city view apartment after dark. Sometimes in the distance explores the relation between city life and inner exploration and how it could sound on a cinema soundtrack. Shaped by Keith Canisius’ experiences with shoegazer and dream pop guitar mixed and blended with a modular synthesizer sampler system, the album flows seamlessly from smooth repeating Basinski like loops to the swirling shoegazer and dream pop guitar styles of the late 80’s. Sometimes in the distance explores the distance and sounds possibilities of the guitar in a preferred cinematic setting making this album the perfect score for your next urban night out
